Pseudobombax Ellipticum in Handcafted Pot

A rather uncommon plant, the Pseudobombax Ellipticum  is native to Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala and is a attractive fast-growing deciduous tree with a smooth green caudiciform trunk. The leaves are good-looking with new shoots in a striking burgundy colour and it is also grown for its unique brush-like flowers that gives its nickname shaving brush tree. The caudiciform trunk will slowly grow thicker with green streaks or patterns that look like a turtle shell.
